MAJORDA: United club of Benaulim defeated Cuncolim Union by 9-8 ,via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of the Fr Basilio memorial inter-village football tournament , at Musson grounds, Majorda, on Saturday.
The match ended goalless at regulation time.
In the tie-breaker, Joel Fernandes, Arif Pathan, Laxmikant Kurade, Osbourne Fernandes, Raju Chalawadi, Caven Ratos, Rody Fernandes, Josbern Fernandes and Caetaninho Fernandes scored for United Club of Benaulim.
Cuncolim Union netted goals through Beston Colaco, Edney Fernandes, Wellington D’Souza, Rosario Carvalho, Bharat Gaonkar, Valky Fernandes, Sangam Gaonkar and Alister Fernandes.
