CALANGUTE: A fine hat-trick by Shashank Ashvekar helped Vailankanni Sports Club, Morjim rout Milagres Sports Club, Mapusa 4-0 in the final of Football Club of Siolim all-Goa inter-village football tournament, organized by Football Club of Siolim at St Anthony church ground, Marna-Siolim, on Sunday.
In a match dominated by Morjim, Shashank Ashvekar put Morjim ahead in the 10th minute. Hardly had the cheers died down when Shashank added another to the score giving his team a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time.
Changing over, Shashank scored the third goal to complete his hat-trick. Aniket Morje completed the tally with few minutes remaining for the final whistle.
Domnic D’Souza was the chief guest and gave away the trophy to the winners in the presence of Saniksha Toraskar, Siolim ZP member; Sylvester Fernandes, sarpanch of Marna; Nilesh Vaigankar, sarpanch of Sodiem and other dignitaries.
