Vasco face Goa Velha

Vasco Sports Club and Goa Velha will lock horns in the Kingfisher Pro League at Tilak Maidan, Vasco on Saturday.
Vasco come into the match with two points from three matches. They drew 2-2 with Churchill Brothers, went down 0-4 to Dempo Sports Club and recently drew 1-1 with Faria Sports Management.
Goa Velha are looking to pick up their first points as they have played only one match which they lost 0-3 to Salgaocar.
Vasco have a fully fit squad. Only winger Joel Sequeria is missing through suspension and Jerose Oliveria is set to replace him.
Zico Costa, Trevor Dias and Augustine Monterio are doubtful for Goa Velha as they are carrying niggling injuries. Alber Gonsalves wo has just come back from representing the victorious Goa school team in the Nationals has been ruled out for Goa Velha through injury.
Vasco coach Gavin Araujo feels his team is creating a lot of good chances but is not taking advantage in front of goal. “In the last match we played well in the first half and created many chances, sometimes we lacked confidence in front of goal and sometimes we were just unlucky but I am sure the tide will turn soon.”
Goa Velha manager Welwin Menezes watched Vasco’s last match against Faria Sports Management and believes his team must stop the opponents from playing in midfield in order to win. “Vasco created many chances from midfield, in particular Donald Rocha who had a spell with us last season was particularly impressive.”
