VARCA: Vasco Veterans edged Tiswadi Veterans 2-1 to move into the semi-finals of 1st All Goa late Clement Veterans football tournament organised by Youth of Fatrade, at Varca SC ground, on Tuesday.
Vasco’s Uday Naik dribbled past Deelip Banaulikar and shot wide as he failed to beat Tiswadi keeper Sebastian Lemos.
Just before half time, Uday Naik scored for Vasco Veterans with a neat placement giving no chance for Sebastian Lemos.
In the 35th minute, a pass by Derrick Pereira saw Uday Naik capitalised to score the second goal for Vasco Veterans to complete his brace.
Benedicto D’Souza converted from the spot kick for Tiswadi Veterans to make 2-1 as Nelson Landez brought down Nanus Fernandes inside the penalty area.
Shekar Shirodkar of Tiswadi Veterans was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
Vasco Veterans will now meet Bardez Veterans in the semi-final on March 7.
