CARMONA: Ambelim Sports Club defeated Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the John Cruz Ferrao Memorial Cup football tournament organised by Carmona Sports Club, at village panchayat ground, Carmona, on Tuesday.
Ambelim’s Ralph opened the score-line in fourth minute. Five minutes later, Eldar Noronha equalised for Don Bosco.
In the second half, both the teams had good chances but their strikers fail to score.
In the tie-breaker, Samson, Macron and Ben scored for Ambelim while Francis and Ashley scored for Don Bosco.
Ambelim SC will now meet Navelim Villagers Union in the semi-finals on February 28.
