MAPUSA: The Vedanta Ultimate Badminton League will be held on January 25-26, at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, tennis stadium, Mapusa. Organised by the Goa Sports Club in association with the Goa Badminton Association, the league will feature six teams and nearly 200 players, showcasing a mix of aspiring and seasoned talents.
The teams competing this year include Sparkling Stars, Ace Raqueteers, Ashers’s Smashers, Flying Gravity, Priority Titans, and Badminators. Matches will be held across Men’s, Women’s, and Veterans categories, with medals for all participants and special trophies for winners.

Now in its fifth edition, the league has grown from its roots as the Vasco Premier League and Goa Badminton League. This year marks the first partnership between Goa Sports Club and Vedanta Sesa Goa as title sponsors. The event has become a key platform for nurturing local badminton talent in Goa.
Handball selection trials on jan 15
MARGAO: The Goa Handball Association has announced selection trials for the Goa state men’s and women’s beach and indoor handball teams in preparation for the 38th National Games, scheduled to be held in Uttarakhand. The trials will take place on January 15, at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, from 3 pm. Interested players may contact Conceicao Fernandes at the venue for registration.
