Velsao Pale pip Goa Velha

Velsao pale SC marched into the quarter-finals of Casino Royale Faria Gold Cup soccer defeating Goa Velha SC 2-1 at Dr T B Cunha complex, Cansualim on Saturday.
In an exciting inaugural match played at high intensity, Goa Velha enjoyed most of the possession and Savio Fernandes drew first blood in the very 3rd minute.
Velsao Pale got into the act in the last 15 minutes of the first half, scoring in the 31st and 41st minutes through Simon Braganza and Desmond Fernandes respectively.
In the second half, Goa Velha SC went all out as Elvis Lopes agonisingly missed six sitters. Desmond Fernandes was awarded the man-of-match prize.
