PANJIM: The first international yoga week organised by
The college, under the able stewardship of principal, Fr (Dr) Simon Diniz, which has been re-accredited with A Grade by NAAC aims to provide a forum to discuss various special areas of the practice of yoga and disseminate the research findings.
Papers on topics like yoga and religion, yoga and meditation, applied yoga in sports, yoga and mental health, yoga in present scenario, yoga as a therapy, yoga for stress prevention will be discussed with the event providing a gamut of activities on yoga by eminent experts.
“Considering the current scenario, in a situation where our lifestyles lead to tension and stress, the practice of yoga is the need of the hour,” stated Dr Francisco Lobo, Physical Education Director of the college.
Dr Lobo stressed, “Yoga as a practical aid not only helps one to keep each and every part of our body fit, but also enables us to achieve self-realisation. Yoga which provides a golden opportunity to enhance health and healthy living as a therapy, is practiced everywhere in the world, being practiced more in the West than in the land of its birth,
