Young Kimran dreams big ahead of trip to Germany

Student of Guardian Angel HS, Curchorem to train at U-Dream; Was youngest to play in U-14 Subroto Mukerjee All-India finals in Delhi in 2011

CURCHOREM: The student of Guardian Angel High School, Curchorem, Kimran Fernandes has been selected to attend training at the U-Dream football, in Germany.
He is the son of Tony and Clara from Shirvoi-Quepem. Kimran started his football career at the age of 10 and played at five national level games in U-12, U-13, U-14 and U-15 categories.
He was the youngest player to play in the under-14 Subroto Mukerjee football tournament in Delhi in 2011 and got a scholarship of Rs 10,000.
Besides Guardian Angel Club, Curchorem he also played for Salgaocar FC and Dempo Sport Club.
He will be leaving to Mumbai on August 12 and to Germany on August 20.
Meanwhile, Guardian Angel High School felicitated Kimran through Quepem Zone Assistant Physical Education Officer (APEO) John Fernandes and former Guardian Angel Club (GAC) President John D’Costa in the Guardian Angel Educational Complex on Wednesday.
Awarding him with token of appreciation and certificate, APEO Fernandes congratulated Kimran and particularly to his mother Clara for supporting and accompanying Kimran at all levels of football training in the State.
Manager of the school, Fr Walter Miranda; Headmaster Fr Jerry Vaz, Physical Education teacher Arvind Chawan and former GAC President, D’Costa also spoke on the occasion.
Besides students and staff, Assistant Headmistress Fatima Lobo, HMCT Principal Fr. Joaquim Rebello, Physical Education Teacher Astrid Mascarenhas, SAG Coach Sharon and Kimran’s Mother Clara were present on the occasion.
