CALANGUTE: Nerul Sports Club prevailed over Holiday Club Arpora 4-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of 5th Saligao United Cup All-Goa inter-village football tournament organized by Saligao United at Dr Gustavo Monteiro Stadium, Candolim, Saturday. The score was 1-1 at full time.
Arpora could have taken the lead in the second minute but a Stanley Coutinho try missed the target by a whisker off a Kalpesh Naik corner. Stanley made amends for his earlier miss and scored in the 15th minute off Pramod Mardolkar. Down by a goal, Nerul went all-out in search of the equalizer and were lucky to draw level in the dying minutes through Ritesh who headed home a Mukund corner.
In the tie-breaker, Avinash Shirodker, Deepraj Sangelkar, Sainath Kalangutkar and Sarvesh Dabholkar converted for Nerul while Gauresh Naik and Stanley Coutinho found the mark for Arpora.
