MARGAO: Strong contenders Churchill Bros-GFDC FC outplayed Sporting Clube de Goa 4-0 in an AIFF U-15 youth football league match, at Utorda ground, on Friday.
It took the Churchill-GFDC boys just five minutes to open the tally through Aniket A Kerkar.
Churchill-GFDC kept up the tempo and swelled the lead in the 13th minute, as Aditya H Salgaoncar found the target.
Churchill-GFDC’s third goal came in the 54th minute through Mevan S Dias and they completed the rout in the 70th minute with Aditya H Salgaocar.
Head coach Marcelino Pereira, who has been instrumental in overall strategy, planning and execution along with coach Xavier Colaco complimented the boys for sticking to the game plan and scoring at regular intervals.
“They displayed good determination and exercised good control for most part of the proceedings. There is plenty of talent and the boys are responding pretty well,” commented Marcelino.
“Head coach Marcelino, all the other coaches, staff and all officials deserve a pat on their back as the boys responded pretty well to the hard work put in by the staff. What is to be admired is the fact that the players are showing marked improvement every time,” Churchill said.
They need to sustain the tempo till the end so that the goal is to emerge at the top by displaying quality skills and technique for the upliftment of Goan football. They are our future stars,” remarked Churchill.
