Goan students in Belgaum hailed

BELGAUM: Principal of Karnataka Law Society’s Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), Belgaum has hailed the commitment and sincerity of the large community of Goan students who are pursuing their engineering courses in various disciplines in the institute.

He was speaking to Herald on the occasion of GIT being conferred with the award of ‘Excellent Technical Education Institute in Karnataka’ at National Karnataka Education Summit & Awards 2014 held at Bangalore. The award was conferred on GIT on account of the good institute profile, academics and students performance over the years.
Karnataka Law Society President Anant Mandagi, Chairman M R Kulkarni, institute Principal Dr A S Deshpande received the award at a function held at the VTU auditorium in Bangalore.
“We are proud to put on record that we have almost 25 per cent students from Goa pursuing their engineering education in various disciplines. A large number of students from Goa have passed out from here and are excelling in different parts of India and abroad. We thank all the parents and students from Goa who have showed faith in our institute,” Deshpande said.
“GIT has an overall 3rd ranking in Karnataka and now has one more feather in its cap with this award. Our pursuit for excellence continues and our perseverance to be among the top engineering colleges in the region continues,” Deshpande added. He was full of praise for Goan students for their commitment that has also added to the progress of GIT.
