VASCO: Acting on a Herald report, the Directorate of Health Services finally deputed a health officer and a nurse at Baina Primary Health Centre (PHC).
Health Officer Dr S V Devari, who was earlier serving at Cansaulim PHC, told Herald that she was glad that she has been deputed at Baina PHC.
Dr Devari informed that on the first day itself she had patients visiting the clinic and they were happy to see a doctor once again at the PHC. “After taking over, I made the list of medicines and got them from the Directorate of Health Services and I will be attending to all sorts of patients,” said Dr Devari.
Dr Devari, who has also served at Hospicio and TB Hospital at Margao, said she had very few patients on the first day, but as the word spreads, more and more people will benefit. “The lab technician and the attendant are locals and I have informed them to spread the news that a new doctor has benn deputed at the Baina PHC and that they should visit it for any ailments,” added Dr Devari.
While commenting on the building, Dr Devari said she has sent a request letter to the PWD (maintenance division) to repair the building before the monsoon to avoid water leakages.
