CANACONA: Raia Sports Club defeated Dicarpale Sports Club via tie-breaker 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of 5th Fr Bento Martin’s memorial inter-village All Goa football tournament organized by St Anne’s Cultural Group in association with Canacona Sports Academy at SAG ground, Agonda, on Sunday.
The teams were locked 2-2 at full time. Mack Borges and Lastan Vales struck for Dicarpale Sports Club, to take the lemon break at 2-0.
After changing ends, Remedios Pango of Raia Sports Club struck two goals to level the score.
In the tie-breaker, Raia converted six penalties against Dicarpale’s four. Don Fernandes of Raia and Lastan Vales of Dicarpale Sports Club were shown yellow cards in each half for rough play.
