PERNEM: Bernard Fernandes was on Wednesday elected unopposed as deputy sarpanch of Arambol Panchayat.

The election was held during a special meeting in the panchayat office wherein returning officer Fotusingh Shetgaonkar declared Bernard elected unopposed.
Arambol Panchayat Sarpanch Manohar Kerkar, panchas Inacio D’Souza, Manisha Naik and Anant Gadekar were present while Divya Vaigankar, Pratiksha Naik, Pravin Vaigankar and Gunaji Takur remained absent.
Bernard said he will work for the overall development of the village with cooperation of all the elected members of Arambol Panchayat.
