NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday fixed listing of an interim stay application of a mining firm before the “Forest Bench” on Wednesday, along with other connected matters.
The order was passed by the Bench of Justices P Sathasivam and M Y Eqbal on a mention made by advocate Parijat Sinha.
The Chief Justice of India has, however, not yet constituted any forest bench since after retirement of Justice Aftab Alam who was heading such a bench and as such the cause list does not show the case listed before any court.
The regular hearing on the petition of the Goa Foundation was, however, supposed to take place on Friday but that too has not been listed that day for want of any forest bench to hear the case.
Sources in the Registrar’s office said the case may be accommodated in a supplementary list as otherwise the main case of the Goa Foundation is already slated on Friday.
