CALANGUTE: The Chairman of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Jose Remedios Rebello has urged students to take up education for growth in all fields including co-curricular and sports with self discipline to succeed in life.
Addressing the students at the inter-school Science festival at St Michael’s Convent High School, Vagator-Anjuna, Rebello said educational growth and discipline should go hand-in-hand while imparting teaching to students.
“The educational field is changing with students being trained in academics, co-curricular, sports and everything. Henceforth, the behaviour of the students will also be assessed and it will reflect in the mark sheets, even for SSC students,” he said.
“Some students have been gifted to excel in a particular field, but we want the students to develop and excel in all fields of education,” he added.
Sr Libia Fernandes, Headmistress of St Michael’s Convent High School, said, “We have been holding the ‘Glow On’ Science festival to give exposure to the students to showcase their talents and make them aware of their responsibility towards the growth of society in a friendly environment.”
Earlier, Rebello inaugurated the ‘Glow On-2013’ in the presence of ex-headmaster Michael D’Souza, Sr Libia Fernandes, Sisters of Society of School, teachers, parents and students.
