CANACONA: Canacona police on Sunday arrested a resident of the town for sexually assaulting a woman since 2016.
Canacona police said that they have registered a case against the 21-year-old under Sections 323, 376, 504, 506, 509 of IPC and 67 a of IT act for voluntarily causing hurt, sexual assault, intentionally insulting, criminal intimidation by words and gestures intended to insult the modesty of a woman and for circulating the video of the intimate scenes of the complainant on social media.
Sources at Canacona police station said that the complainant has complained of a sexual assault over a period of two years at different locations in the taluka and the accused has uploaded the video clipping of some intimate scenes with the complainant that took place in a car on WhatsApp since last couple of days.
The accused has been remanded in their custody for the next five days for further interrogation and the case is being investigated by PI Rajendra Prabhudessai.
