PANJIM: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) have conducted inspection of the wards in Sao Tome and surrounding areas and directions were issued to carry out maintenance related works immediately.
At this inspection, along with councillor and former Mayor Shubham Chodankar and the Junior Engineers of the CCP, they took stock of the development works to be carried out as well as the areas that needed urgent repairs.
It may be recalled that heritage groups and tourism stakeholders had recently met the Mayor and had suggested various measures to improve the infrastructure of these residential areas.
“During the visit we also met residents and shared views as how the city infrastructure can be improved,” said Panjim Mayor Rohit Monserrate.
Deputy Mayor Vasant Agshikar was also present.
The Mayor and Deputy, local councillors Vithal Chopdekar, Silvestre Fernandes and CCP staff were present for the inspection of wards in Ribandar that was conducted earlier. Here too, they received feedback after interacting with locals and also assessed the areas where development and repair works will be carried out shortly.
