Reacting to incident of two suspended lady constables, connected with suicide of police constable Prathamesh Gaude, injured after jumping from first floor of Colvale jail premises, Alemao said that state is going through upsetting situations.

He said that abetment to suicide is serious issue and needs to be taken seriously.

“In cash for job scam, a government servant has ended his life and thorough investigation needs to be done to find out as to what made him take this step,” Alemao said.

“This job scam case should be handed over to CBI or judicial inquiry should be conducted as there are chances that police will be under pressure,” Alemao said.

“It is also learnt that, while some people came to complain at the Marcela Police Out Post, one of the police instead helping them was sitting in the car of the accused person. Hence it is evident that these accused who are looting job seekers are protected,” Alemao said.

“This seems to be a major job scame, wherein accused persons have accumulated wealth in crores of rupees by cheating people. One thing needs to be understood that people gave them money as previously they have offered government jobs. Hence, it needs to be investigated who is behind this whole gang,” Alemao pointed out.

“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should also come clear whether he will take action on those who secured jobs by paying bribes. This trend is depriving deserving candidates,” Alemao said.

“Secondly, those candidates who have given money for jobs should get their refund. The whole gang involved in it should be exposed and brought to justice,” Alemao said.

Alleging that BJP government is not serious to act against such scams, the Congress leader said,“During its last term, BJP’s Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate had exposed his own government over job scam in PWD. But it did nothing to give justice to deserving candidates and the trend of selling jobs has continued.”

AAP reiterates demand for judicial probe

PANJIM: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has reiterated its demand that the cash-for-job scam be investigated by a judicial commission comprising of retired High Court Judge and two retired District Court Judges.

“If BJP and its Ministers and leaders are not involved in this scam why should you be scared to hold such inquiry?” asked AAP State President Adv Amit Palekar.

“Let’s get together to raise our voice against the scam of the century by BJP Goa government led by CM Pramod Sawant. Enough is enough! You can’t play with the youth of Goa,” he said.
