Candolim enter last eight

Candolim Sports Club got the better of Adarsh Yuvak Sangh 5-3 via the tie-breaker after the teams were involved in a 1-1 draw to move into the quarter-finals of Calangute Panchayat Cup soccer tournament organised by Calangute Association at Poriat ground, Calangute on Tuesday.
Adarsh took the lead in the 7th minute through Paresh Morje who slotted past Candolim goalkeeper Bharat Morje. Candolim equalised in the 15th minute through Kliebber D’Souza off a Roy Das pass. Adarsh could have forged ahead but Paresh failed to find the net. Later, Candolim came close to scoring when a free kick taken by Kliebber hit the post and went out of play.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Shankar, Manuel Crasto, Kliebber and Jolith scored for Candolim while Ritesh and Francis were on target for Adarsh.
