Photographs of a group brandishing a sword while celebrating a birthday party in the middle of the road during the late hours raised an alarm of safety of citizens. The incident surfaced on social media after which Goa State Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited lodged a police complaint as the incident occurred outside the dairy plant gate.
Nine persons were arrested and a majority of them turned out to be drivers of the Goa Dairy plant. However, an official said, they are not on the payroll of the Co-operative Society.

While the nine accused, aged between 20-25 years, are in custody, around 3-4 are absconding. Police sources said that the sword has been recovered but the accused are misleading the investigation team on the source of the sword.
