PONDA: A 21-year-old engineering student, Sandeep Vishwakarma, a resident of Taleigao, who was reported missing since Saturday afternoon, was found floating in the waters near Fomento Dock at Karai-Shiroda on Monday evening.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
It may be recalled that the Sandeep’s belongings were found abandoned on the Borim Bridge and his family had filed a missing complaint with the Ponda Police.
According to Ponda Police, Sandeep Vishwakarma had left his home on Saturday morning to appear for exam at Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology at Shiroda. Sandeep, a third year student of Computer Science, didn’t appear for the exam and since then he was reported to be missing.
When Sandeep failed to return home in the evening, his family tried to contact him. As he could not be contacted, they filed the complaint with the Ponda Police. After an inquiry his belongings such as bag, ID card, hall ticket and mobile phone was found abandoned on the Borim Bridge, police added.
