MARGAO: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza on Tuesday exhorted ITI trainees to strive hard to become skilled craftsmen saying they have a good scope to excel in life.
Speaking during the induction program at the Borda Multipurpose ITI centre here this evening, D’Souza reminded the trainees about the tremendous scope for the various trades in the State. “Goa’s vehicular population has touched 9.5 lakh. This means that there will be mechanics required to service and maintain these vehicles. Besides, there’s a huge demand for plumber and electricians in the State and the trainees can bridge the gap between demand and supply,” he said. Saying that it was purely in the hands of the trainees to make a career in craftsmen training, D’Souza underlined the need to respect dignity of labour. Former CM Digambar Kamat, former MLA Damu Naik, State Director of Craftsmen Training Aleixo F da Costa and others also spoke.
