PANJIM: If Narendra Modi thought being the Prime Minister ensured safety from the national news channel, he just got himself a reality check! After team Doordarshan’s poor show during the reportage of IFFI in Goa and calling the Chinese President ‘Eleven Jinping’, this time the official twitter handle of Doordarshan News posted a strange tweet: (See pic alongside). This was certainly not the first time that the twitter handle posted a flawed tweet as they had made a blunder previously too by posting another picture. (Pic on page 11)
Needless to say, twitterati took turns to make fun of Doordarshan News for a long time and it appeared that the news channel wasn’t even aware of the goof-up as there was no reply or correction from the official twitter handle. However, after a couple of hours Doordarshan did reply but to make matters worse for it as the corrigendum was also published with a typo. The corrigendum said: ‘Dear followers, there has been an error. Story has been put with correct picture again. Kindly don’t misinterpre news.’
After a long day of trial and error, the news channel finally got it right when it posted: ‘Doordarshan News @DDNewsLive: An unrelated picture was inadvertently placed by side of the China zoo story. We have removed the tweet.’
