MARGAO: Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem defeated Social Cultural Club of Loutolim 2-1 to cruise into the quarter-final of All Goa Bro Eulailo Vas memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, Monday.
Guardian Angel led 1-0 at half time. The highlight of the day was a brilliant brace by striker Anthony Dias.
Guardian held the upper hand in both sessions and kept their opponents on the mat. Anthony Dais broke the deadlock for winners in the 15th minute when he picked up the ball from his teammate and punished the rival goalkeeper with snap shot.
Changing over, Guardian Angel continued to dictate terms and enjoyed the better share of exchanges and doubled the lead when Anthony Dias blasted home from close range. Down by two goals, Loutolim upped the ante and managed to pull one back through Rolland Dias late in the second half.
