MARGAO: St Anthony Sports Club, Colva edged past St Rock Youth Club, Calata-Majorda 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 34th Gold Silver Rolling Trophy Football tournament, organized by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Thursday. St Anthony SC led 2-0.
St Anthony SC surged ahead in the fifth minute through Baptista Fernandes’ curling effort.
Subsequently, in the 23rd minute, St Rock Youth Club’s Remy Barretto dribbled past a rival defender but his attempt kissed the crossbar.
At the other end, St Anthony SC doubled their advantage through Baptista Fernandes off an assist by Selwin Rodrigues.
Post resumption, in the 41st minute, St Rock Youth Club pulled a goal back through Remy Barretto’s grounder off an assist by Clive Vaz.
However, St Anthony SC made it 3-1 through Baptista, who secured his hat-trick with a powerful effort.
