Bihar trio held with drugs at Anjuna

CALANGUTE, NOV 30 Anjuna Police arrested three persons from Bihar on charges of illegal possession of drugs worth Rs 31,800 at Anjuna on Monday evening. According to Anjuna Police, the accused, Natwarlal Yadav (36), Sanjam Kumar (32) and Ramesh Gopa (29), were arrested for allegedly possessing 192 gms cocaine, 440 gms heroin and 24 gms charas, all worth Rs 31,800.

Anjuna Police arrested three persons from Bihar on charges of illegal possession of drugs worth Rs 31,800 at Anjuna on Monday evening.
According to Anjuna Police, the accused, Natwarlal Yadav (36), Sanjam Kumar (32) and Ramesh Gopa (29), were arrested for allegedly possessing 192 gms cocaine, 440 gms heroin and 24 gms charas, all worth Rs 31,800.
Police said they were on patrol, when two persons standing along the road near Starco junction tried to flee from the place seeing the police.
However, both, Natwarlal Yadav and Sanjay Kumark Sharma, were arrested and the illegal drugs were found in their possession in the guitar and bags.
After their arrests, the place rented by them at Soranto Vaddo-Anjuna was raided and searched for illegal drugs and 62 gms cocaine and 324 gms of heroin was seized, while the third person Ramesh Gopa was also arrested.
Police further informed that the trio was earlier involved in international courier business and the police suspect that they were selling drugs in courier envelopes.
The police raid was carried out between 5.30 pm and 11 pm. The police team was led by DySP Sammy Tavares, PI Manjunath Dessai, PSI Videsh Pilgaonkar, Bikaji Salgaonkar, Sushant Mahale, Keshav Naik, Samir Gauns, Umesh P Suhas Joshi, Nitesh Mulgaonkar and Vivek Ekavade.
