The further complained that water in the pond/lake is contaminated due to dumping of waste as there no outlet to drain out the water. Locals further alleged that though the pond/lake has been taken up for beautification, the project is yet to take off. Speaking to Herald, Shabi, a resident said, “Mosquitoes breed in the contaminated pond, which has resulted in rise in malaria cases in the ward.
The health authorities need to take precautionary measures to stop mosquito breeding but unfortunately nothing has been done”. Arpora-Nagoa Dy Sarpanch Roshan Redkar informed that the pond/lake has been taken for beautification but the project work is yet to take off through govt funding.
