Govt bans strike by transporters for 6 months

PANJIM: Days after the taxi unions warned of a strike from Tuesday, the State government has issued notification prohibiting any kind of strike by transporters for next six months.
“Government of Goa has prohibited strike in any form in all transport services for the carriage of passengers or goods by land or water in the State of Goa with immediate effect,” the Department of Information release states. Further, it says, this order will be valid for a period of six months. The taxi operators have been demanding scrapping of GoaMiles app-based taxi service and if government fails to do so they have threatened to go on indefinite strike from tomorrow.
