PANJIM: The Department of Health Services (DHS), in response to the 99 reported cases of dengue, has issued precautions against the transmission of the vector borne diseases.
Since January this year, the department has reported a total of 99 cases in the State while cases continue to rise in other parts of the country. With no curative treatment or vaccine, the only way to tackle the dengue menace, says the department is prevention and control the Aedes mosquito.
The disease is transmitted by the Aedes Mosquito, commonly known as ‘Tiger Mosquito’ that breeds in domestic and peri-domestic sites. Its breeding grounds include clean stagnant water in small containers like water stored in small utensils, buckets, barrels, in coconut shells, tyres, throw away plastic cups, etc.
