PANJIM: Congress party on Thursday accused Education Minister Manohar Parrikar of taking for granted students, teachers and parents on various educational issues with regard to revamping the mid-day meal scheme.
Briefing media persons, Congress spokesman Amarnath Panjikar said that despite assurances, the government has failed to resolve the midday meal issue that has been haunting students and parents since long.
“Education Minister had assured to revamp mid-day meal scheme by Diwali. However, he failed to announce the exact year (of Diwali),” he said cynically.
Panjikar demanded that along with parents, the state authority should also monitor the mid-day meal by having surprise inspections. He also demanded that government should immediately come out with a proper scheme and provide hygienic and healthy meal.
Congress leader said holding HSSC and SSC exams at the same time would lead to chaos.
