GOA VELHA: A goal each from Dylan Rodrigues and Sam Braganza helped Betalbatim SC register an easy win over CDJ Ribandar in the 12th London Trophy, organized by Goa Velha Sports Club and played at Goa Velha ground, on Thursday.
Betalbatim SC scored in the either half of the play.
Coming into the game, Betalbatim were a dominant side but it was CDJ Ribandar who had the first real attempt but Krishna Shirodkar headed wide from a touching distance.
At the other end, Betalbatim SC came close to scoring but Dylan Rodrigues effort deflected off Ribandar’s Krishna and went out for a corner.
Betalbatim’s Blifton Colaco’s shot hit the side netting. With much probing, Betalbatim finally found the breakthrough at the half hour mark when Dylan intercepted Atul Naik’s back pass and slammed past the helpless keeper.
Crossing over, Ribandar’s Melino had couple of chances but the striker just couldn’t deliver.
Hastan Cardozo put the game to bed inflating the lead to 2-0. Sam played a through pass to Hastan and the latter placed the ball in the far right corner.
