Khariwado crematorium renovated

VASCO: The renovation and roofing work of the sheets of crematorium at Khariwado, taken up by the Murgao Hindu Samaj, has been completed.

The shed, which was damaged during the Tauktae cyclone, cost Rs10.5 lakh said the Samaj during a press conference on Tuesday.

Murgao Hindu Samaj (MHS) member Shekhar Khadapkar said, “Tauktae had blown away the metallic sheets. This was causing great hardships to people who used to attend the final rites.

“After hearing the grievances of the people, the Samaj took the initiative and refurbished the roofing,” Khadapkar added.
