Dr Salkar urges for Education Dept probe into fake birth certificate

In a tit for tat gesture, Dr Shekhar Salkar has urged the chief secretary to direct the Education Department to investigate into the fake birth certificate case of Ganesh Dayananad Narvekar, son of Aldona MLA Dayananad Narvekar.
It may be recalled that the Aldona MLA is alleged to have earlier requested the chief secretary to investigate into functioning of NOTE India, which is headed by Dr Salkar.
In a letter to the Chief Secretary dated February 23, Dr Salkar highlighted that he had requested the education minister to appoint a committee to investigate into the forged birth certificate, where Dayanand Narvekar had mentioned the date of birth as ‘February 28, 1992’ to seek admission to his son in the school.
“But he had mentioned ‘September 1, 1993’ as his son’s birth date for representing Goa Cricket, when his actual birthday was on February 28, 1993,” complained Dr Salkar.
Dr Salkar further complained that the committee, despite providing all the details, refused to investigate into the matter sighting pending police inquiry.
“This clearly shows that your officials appointed by the education minister have no guts to investigate the matter as the concerned parent, Dayanand Narvekar, is a ruling party MLA,” claimed Dr Salkar in the letter.
“This has sent a wrong message to the society that the officers in the Education Department are puppets at the hands of the politicians,” he alleged.
In view of this, Dr Salkar has urged the chief Secretary to look into the matter and has also requested to investigate the matter under his guidance, if all the other officers fail to do it.
Dr Salkar has also attested all the documents along with the letter.
