SANGUEM: In less than 24 hours, the Sanguem Police solved the case of the mysterious death of the twelve-year old girl from Sanguem who died in the early morning hours on Sunday, August 27 at their rented premise at Bendwada Sanguem.
In an unexpected scenario, the Sanguem Police acting under the supervision of SP South Arvind Gawas and DySP Sammy Tavares after having failed to get any clues leading to the death of the minor girl in the morning session, summoned the elder sister (14 years) and the mother of the deceased at the Sanguem Police Station for detail interrogation in the afternoon session.
As the investigation was in progress, the investigating officials managed to get the beans spilled out from the 14-year-old sister of the deceased who allegedly admitted of having killed the younger sibling out of jealousy.
Narrating the sequence of events leading to the death of the younger sister Kajol Pappu Yadav, the elder sister reportedly informed the police of having committed the gruesome act after Kajol having returned home from the Ganesh Immersion ceremony and while she was fast asleep next to her mother.
The elder sister allegedly took the benefit of the loud noise from the Ganesh Immersion ceremony which is held barely few metres away from the rented premise of the Yadav family to commit the deadly act at about 3.30 in the morning.
While the immersion ceremony was in progress, the elder sister armed with a nylon rope entered into the bedroom where Kajol and her mother was sleeping and killed Kajol by tying the nylon rope around her neck.
Sources informed that as Kajol lay breathless for some time, the elder sister suffocated Kajol by pressing her neck with both her hands at which point of time, her mother is reported to have awaken from the sleep.
The elder sister then slowly went back into her bedroom and slept as if nothing had happened at home. The sanguem Police arrested the elder sister for murder under section 304 of IPC and sent to Apna Ghar Merces.
It is however, not known as to how the mother could not come to know about the deadly act despite the mother sleeping next to the deceased daughter.
Inquiries revealed that the elder sister committed the deadly act solely out of jealousy as everybody in the family loved the deceased sister more than anybody else. Moreover whenever the family was going out, Kajol was most preferred by the family members to be taken along and this has irritated the elder sister all the more.
