Betalbatim Sporting Club came from behind to defeat Ave Maria Athletic Welfare Club Benaulim 2-1 in GFA U-16 league at Rosary ground, Navelim on Monday. Betalbatim were trailing 0-1at half time.
Ave Maria’s Martin Fernandes stunned the rivals with snap shot. Betalbatim were rewarded when Leslie D’Costa neutralized the lead. Royston Fernandes struck the match-winner.
With this win, Betalbatim finished the engagements with an all-win record with 24 points from eight matches.
Silrim Sports Club rallied to thump Dicarpale Sports Club 4-1 in another league match at Assolna ground. Dicarpale led 1-0 through Reagan Fernandes.
Sirlim’s Jonathon Cardozo struck a hat-trick while Sanford Oliveira added misery to the Dicarplae woes in the 80th minute.
Verna SC trounced Ambelim SC 3-0 in a GFA U-14 league at Verna ground. Verna scored through Flyod Fernandes, Josuah Fernandes and Nolan D’Cruz.
