MARGAO: Residents of Talsanzor on Friday called for the regularisation of their structures standing on the land belonging to Margao Comumunidade.
Submitting their replies before the Administrator of Communidades, South during hearing of the demolition notices issued to the residents, around 33 parties in their reply pointed out that their applications for regularisation of their houses has been pending with the Communidade Administrator for years now.
The residents also raised objection to the demolition notices issued under the Goa Land (Prohibition of Construction) Act on grounds that the Communidade Administrator is not authorised to act under the Act. They further raised objections to the invocation of the Act, saying their structures have been existing on the Communniade land much before the Act came into force.
When contacted, Communidade Administrator Sangeeta Naik said she has adjourned hearing of the matter to June 25 to give enough time for the 33 parties to advance their arguments in the case. “Hearing in the Moti Dongor as well as Talsanzor illegal structures is almost complete. I will pass orders in the matter after the final hearing on June 25,” she added.
Beleaguered residents of Moti Dongor have also asked the Communidade Administrator to regularise their structures standing on the Communidade land.
