MARGAO: Betalbatim Sporting Club defeated Pax of Nagoa, Verna 6-3 to advance into the next round of the 26th Curtorim Panchayat Cup All Goa inter-village football tournament played at Curtorim Church ground, on Saturday.
At half time, Betalbatim Sporting Club were leading 2-1.
Betalbatim Sporting Club started the match on an attacking note but Pax of Nagoa opened the scoring through Savio Fernandes in the 10th minute.
Betalbatim Sporting Club soon equalized through Klusner Pereira in the 12th minute and doubled the lead with the efforts of Austin Fernandes in the 30th minute.
Crossing over, Betalbatim Sporting Club pumped in four more goals with the efforts of James Rebello in the 55th minute, Manushawan Fernandes in the 60th minute, Klusner Pereira in the 70th minute and Austin Fernandes in the 70th minute.
Savio completed his hat-trick with scoring two goals in quick succession for Pax of Nagoa in the 50th and 64th minutes.
