MARGAO: Eight months have elapsed; the police are yet to register an FIR against the culprit/s in connection with the missing file of Margao Municipal Council (MMC) pertaining to the alleged scam of 292 toilets to the tune of Rs 1 crore.
The civic body has not yet submitted the required details to the police for further investigation.

“We are still waiting for the details from the municipality to carry out further investigation, said Margao PI Sachin Narvekar.
The PI said the municipality has just submitted an application regarding the missing file; however, there is no evidence or any other details as to who had handled the file.
MMC chief officer Agnelo Fernandes said Municipal Engineer has been asked to submit the details to the police. “We have prepared the reply and instructed the engineer to submit it before the police”, he said.
