MARGAO: The South Goa District Collector has directed the Deputy District Magistrates to resolve the pending cases of construction regularisation on private land.
The applications for regularising constructions on private land will now be processed, while constructions on public land will not be considered for regulation, said Minister Alex Sequeira and also emphasised that no application should remain pending, regardless of whether it is approved or rejected.
He said that the long-pending issue of toilets at the South Goa District Collectorate is also set to be resolved. The construction of the toilets, which had been delayed for months, will be completed by December 31, with all facilities becoming operational on January 1, following a recent review of the work.
Under the Good Governance Week initiative, camps have been organised at various Deputy Collectorate offices in South Goa, where officials are actively addressing citizens’ problems.
Additionally, the Minister acknowledged the ongoing water supply issues in Nuvem constituency, particularly in the Majorda and Utorda areas. A review has been conducted to identify the specific areas facing water shortages, and measures are being taken to resolve the issue.
He also provided an update on the ongoing demarcation work to address the land acquisition issue for the South Western Railway at Velsao. The demarcation is progressing without any obstacles and is expected to be completed within two days, he claimed.
