MAPUSA: Pernem police registered an FIR against a person for a massive hill cutting in survey No 141/0 at Tuem village.
According to sources, on instructions from Pernem Deputy Collector Sudhir Kerkar, the Pernem mamlatdar, deputy town planner and Pernem police inspector inspected the property on Monday where they found a massive illegal hill cutting by one Shivanand Dhaimode, a resident of Dhargal in an area of 360 square meters.
Sources informed that Dhaimode had not obtained permission for hill cutting from the Town and Country Planning Department. Hence, the TCP issued a show cause notice to Dhaimode and directed him to stop the illegal hill cutting. Dhaimode was also directed to restore the land to its original condition.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Collector (DRO) in-charge for flying squad team, North Goa District, has directed the persons concerned to immediately stop the work of hill cutting which is carried out in the property bearing Survey No 28/0 at Chimbel and the property bearing Survey Nos 293/0 and 295/1 and also dumping of mud is observed in Survey No 303/0 of Mayem, thereby violating Section 17-A of TCP Act.
