CALANGUTE
A hotel manager in Candolim was arrested on charges of fleeing away with cash of Rs 2.5 lakh on Monday.
According to Calangute Police, the manager, Brijesh Dessai, was entrusted with cash collection at night, which he would hand over to the reception the next morning.
Since the manager failed to turn up to hand over the cash, the management tried to contact Dessai, who, however, gave lame excuses.
The management then informed Calangute Police and Dessai’s mobile phone location was traced at Dabolim airport. Calangute Police immediately alerted Mumbai Police, who arrested Dessai in Mumbai.
In another incident, Calangute Police raided a shack in Calangute for reportedly playing loud music.
Police sources informed that arrests were being carried out under the Noise Pollution Act.
