The Goa Opposition kept up the heat against the Government on Day 4 of the four-day assembly session by alleging a scam in the Goa Industrial Development Corporation transfer & swapping of industrial plots. Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai while pointing to a bigger scam, demanded an inquiry into the transfer of the plot to ComScope, where officially only Rs 5000 was charged but Rs 80 lakh was paid illegally. Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho assured to look into the scam seriously and act according to guidelines and assured to bring transparency in the functioning of GIDC.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai also said he would submit a video of a person seen taking bribes in one such case. He demanded a time-bound inquiry into the transfer and swapping scam. Minister Mauvin Godinho assured to act against these cases before the next assembly session.
