RAIA: United Club Verna defeated Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda, 4-3, via the tie-breaker to enter into the quarterfinals of 7th Martin’s Cup, organised by Betalbatim Sports Club and played at panchayat ground, Betalbatim, on Wednesday.
United Club Verna and Don Bosco Fatorda played end to end contest and kept the crowd busy but couldn’t break the deadlock till the full time and remained 0-0 draw.
In the resultant tie-breaker, United Club Verna scored through Desmond Gama, Desmond Pereira, Savio Pereira and Roydon Rego while Rocky Borges, Cliff Barreto and Alfred Noronha were on target for Don Bosco.
Savio Pereira goalkeeper of United Club Verna was awarded man-of-the-match by Issac Pereira.
