BJP to celebrate Liberation golden jubilee in a big way

The BJP has announced its plans to celebrate golden jubilee of Goa’s Liberation in a big way with participation of people wherein it would organise programmes for the whole year which will begin from the intervening night of December 18.
The BJP State President Laxmikant Parsekar addressing a press conference along with BJP spokesperson Govind Parvatkar here said the party will organise rallies in all panchayat as well as municipal areas on the night of December 18 and appealed people irrespective of their party affiliations to participate in the celebration.
While on the day of Liberation — 19 December – the party plans to have meeting and rallies and a programme to felicitate freedom fighters. The party has appealed women and children to participate in its celebrations.
“We want even children and women to participate in the programmes,” said Parsekar. The party has had meetings to draw programmes for two-day celebrations whereas programme for rest of the year will be decided later, he added.
The BJP State President however refuted the charges that the party has given up its programme for opposing illegal operations of casinos in Mandovi River. He clarified that they have not forgotten the December 19 deadline set by the party for government to take action.
When grilled as to what is their plan of action in the event the government does not act, he said, “they will declare their programme after December 19.”
