PONDA: Deelip Naik has been elected unopposed as Sarpanch of Bethki Khandola panchayat in a special meeting held on Saturday.
Ameena Wadkar has been elected to the deputy post. The election for the two wards were held recently and counting for all nine wards which was pending were held together recently following a court order on the reservation.
The panchayat consists of nine members and eight panchas were present and took part in the election.
Independent MLA and Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude and local BJP leader and former BJP MLA Adv Vishwas Satarkar together claimed the ruling group was supported by them.
