Vasco woman succumbs to burn injuries

VASCO: A 30-year-old resident of Varunapuri-Vasco succumbed to burn injuries which she had sustained after her husband allegedly threw boiling water on her.

VASCO: A 30-year-old resident of Varunapuri-Vasco succumbed to burn injuries which she had sustained after her husband allegedly threw boiling water on her.
According to Vasco Police, Hema Mary and her husband Joseph Kadarkot used to quarrel every day. On August 25, accused Joseph during the argument picked up utensil with boiling water from the stove and threw it on Hema Mary, due to which she sustained 40% burn injuries. Hema Mary was rushed to GMC Hospital at Bambolim.
Police further informed that Hema Mary in her declaration accused her husband of the incident and acting on the declaration, police immediately arrested Joseph and remanded him to police custody.
Police said Hema Mary succumbed to injuries at GMC on Sunday and a case under Section 302 is registered against accused Joseph.
The accused has been remanded to 14 days judicial custody and Vasco Police Inspector Rupendra Shetgaonkar is investigating the case.
