FATORDA: Goa Police continued their winning streak in the league by winning their second game 2-1 against A.A de Moira in the GENO First Division League organised by Goa Football Association (GFA) played at Artificial Turf, Fatorda on Friday.
The game witnessed a cagey opening with both teams vying for the ball. Goa Police finally scored in the dying minute of the first half through Tushar Dessai.
Abdul Khan further doubled the Goa Police teams lead in the 69th minute with a fine finish into the post.
The A.A de Moira side finally managed to pull a goal down in the final additional time courtesy to Ronald Martins.
In another game played at Sirsaim ground, Sesa FA blanked Club Sao Minguel de Taleigao 3-0.
Dhiraj Gaoncar opened the scoring for the winners while later V.G doubled the lead for the Sesa side.
Another goal from A. A Cardozo helped Sesa side take home all three points.
GFA U-16: GFA today clarified that the U-16 match between Sesa FA and Dempo SC played on February 21 was won by Sesa FA 1-0.
It may be noted that GFA in a release had sent the news that Dempo SC had won the match which was publised on Feb 22 headlined ‘Dempo SC edge past Sesa FA’.
