CCTVs at Sancoale VP

VASCO: Taking a cue from the corruption charges slapped against a few of its members, the Sancoale panchayat installed CCTV cameras at its premises to keep track of its members’ activities. Five cameras will monitor not just the panchayat’s main office, but also the cabins of the secretary and sarpanch.

Sarpanch Sharan Meti stated that the panchayat was committed to providing effective, corruption-free services to the villagers. “There were allegations in past. Now we don’t want to take any risk, and thus we decided to install CCTV cameras so that each and everything that is happening in the Panchayat will be recorded,” said Meti.
According to sources in the Sancoale panchayat, the decision to install cameras was taken after several citizens lodged complaints.
